Newton's Fractal

Newton's method for finding roots, applied to the whole complex plane. Each point is colored by which root it converges to — and how fast. The boundaries between convergence basins are fractal: no matter how deep you zoom, the three (or four, or five) regions interleave in the same self-similar pattern. A root-finder becomes a fractal generator.
